Anna Bae
Born in Long Beach, CA
Anna Bae's experiences studying art in Florence, Italy and a background in fashion design has woven their way into her process. Draping is a key element, and it is through the manipulation of fabrics that she finds her voice. The objects she culls together are infused with a nostalgia, value, and desirability of their own. Bae has an immediate connection with her found elements and is drawn to items which are strange, weathered, or raw. Her works are re-imagined and take life by being scavenged, submerged, swallowed, and composed into an orchestra of transformative forms.
